Adapted from Crockpot 365
Ingredients:
1 lb thin beef (I used chuck steak)
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 T white wine
2 T apple cider vinegar
1 T brown sugar
2 t sesame oil (I didn't have any so I used olive oil)
2 cloves smashed and chopped garlic
1/2 t crushed red pepper flakes (didn't have any but will use when/if I do)
1 regular sized head of broccoli, chopped
Directions:
Add the liquid to the crockpot
Chop up your garlic, add to mixture
Stir in spices
Slice meat into thin strips
Toss in the liquid and spice mixture to coat thoroughly
Cook on low for 6-8 hours, depending on the cut of meat. Thicker pieces will take longer to tenderize.
An hour before serving, add broccoli, cover and cook on high for another hour or so.
Stir to coat broccoli w/ delicious sauce
Serve over steamed rice.
Since we're gone for 9+ hours each day, and my crockpot tends to be a tad hot, I put mine on warm (instead of low) all day & then when I got home, I added the broccoli florets & cranked it up to high for about 45 more minutes. Perfect & really delicious. My sauce could be a little thicker so I may consider using corn starch next time to thicken it up a bit, but still delic!
